Yummy Choco Chip Cookies

1 cup shortning
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp hot water
1 tsp vanilla
--cream together
1 1/2 cup flour
2 cups oats
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 pkg choco chips
(I add nuts)
-mix well and cook in 400 degree oven for 8 minutes
